Is Your Current AC Unit Ready For The Warm Weather In Boone?

Boone Warm Weather

With the Spring season upon us in High Country, it’s time for homeowners to start considering the condition of their current AC Unit. As we all know, Boone often brings rough Winters, but we seem to overlook how hot it can get here in the Spring and Summer months. Here are a few tips that Mountaineer Heating & Cooling recommends to keep your home cool all the way through summer.

  • Check all your air filters regularly. If they haven’t been changed in a while, dust and dirt buildup can restrict airflow and keep your air conditioner running harder than it needs to be (without your home getting any cooler).
  • Check the batteries in your thermostat. If the thermostat can’t communicate with your HVAC system properly, then it won’t be able to adjust temperature accordingly.
  • Check your AC Unit’s drain line. When your air conditioner detects that water cannot drain away from the system, it will activate a safety switch to turn the unit off. If the drain pan under your indoor unit has water, you may need to have your drain line flushed.
  • Make sure your condenser is running, the fan should be spinning. If it’s not, there could be a mechanical failure or been shut off by a blown fuse or tripped breaker.

“My Home Still Isn’t Staying Cool Enough!”

If you’ve checked all the tips listed above and still can’t get comfortable, then feel free to give Mountaineer Heating & Cooling a call to perform a diagnostic check on your system. Our technicians are trained to spot any problems with your unit and always provide honest quotes on repairs. AC repair in Boone can be a cost effective method to get your home through the summer without having to get a replacement, but it may only be a short term solution.
